Beltane Fires & A Celebration of Summer

The veils are said to be thin on the 1st of May, May Day or in Gaelic … Beltane.

Beltane is  a Pagan festival, the last of the three spring fertility festivals, heralding the arrival of summer and a most pertinent time to celebrate the wisdom and LORE across the land. This time of year is all about embracing the power of growth, transformation, and new beginnings.

"Our ancestors and all of nature are calling us. It is time…"

Beltane Festival Lore Jewellery

So, what exactly is Beltane, and why is it so magical? Well, Beltane is a celebration of the fertility of the earth and the renewal of life. It's a time when we honor the power of nature to transform and regenerate, and we rejoice in the abundance of the world around us.

One of the most powerful symbols of Beltane is the Maypole. This tall, colorful pole is adorned with flowers and ribbons, and is a symbol of the phallus, representing the male energy of the universe. The dancing around the Maypole is a way to channel that energy, to celebrate the union of the masculine and feminine, and to bring about the growth and renewal of the earth.

But Beltane isn't just about the Maypole. It's a time to connect with the natural world in all its forms, to honour the cycles of the seasons, and to embrace the power of transformation. And what better way to do that than with jewellery?

Jewellery has always been a powerful tool for transformation. Whether it's a piece that represents a new phase in your life, or something that channels the energy of a particular season or celebration, jewellery has the power to connect us to something greater than ourselves.

So, how can you channel the magic of Beltane with your jewellery? Well, you could opt for pieces that feature floral motifs or symbols of growth and renewal, like leaves or branches. You could choose gemstones that are associated with Beltane, like emerald, rose quartz, or moonstone.

Ultimately, the key to embracing the power of Beltane is to let go of the past, and to open yourself up to the potential of the future. Whether you're dancing around the Maypole, or simply wearing a piece of jewellery that connects you to the energy of this magical time, Beltane is all about celebrating the power of growth, transformation, and new beginnings. So, embrace the magic of spring, and let the power of Beltane guide you on your journey of transformation.

We blend the wild and wondrous ways, as the physical and spiritual realms are intertwined. Celebrate we must.. Traditions from forgotten times are remembered and reignited

With flower crowns adorned, love spells being cast, dancing and feasting around the burning Beltane Fires. There is much to toast as we welcome the up and coming warmth of summer, fertility, new beginnings and the growth of crops and animals.

With great delight we prepare our banquets, taking care to include ingredients that resonate with our special occasion. Glorious salads bursting with goodness, peppers for warmth and vibrancy, honey dressings for richness and abundance, edible flowers and succulent Strawberries offer up their sweetness. Goblets of Pink wines and Rose teas are the perfect refreshments.  We gather our children and share tales of The Fey, whilst writing our wishes on brightly coloured ribbons to hang from the trees so they may be blessed with the magick of this truly auspicious event. We dance, we sing, we listen to stories from the bard who reveals more of the mysteries of LORE to be uncovered.
