How to Find & Fit Your Perfect Ear Cuff

Stylish, quirky and playful, the ear cuff is becoming increasingly popular and it’s clear to see why. Allowing you to add an edgy yet chic finish to your look, ear cuffs enable you to experiment with earrings beyond the traditional styles, without having to take the plunge and opt for a more permanent piercing. Read on to discover how to style the ear cuff, as well as how to put one one properly, and some of our favourite styles for the season ahead…

Styling Your Ear Cuff Ear cuffs can be worn alone as a statement piece, and often make a fantastic alternative to the traditional stud, hoop or drop earring. Perfect for special occasions and off-duty style, an ear cuff is ideal for adding that finishing touch and interest to your look, without making obvious choices.

Designed to hug the outer curve of your ear, ear cuffs can be worn alone as a single statement piece, stacked in multiples, or styled with other earrings to create an eclectic and quirky look.

If you have two piercings to your lobe, try styling your ear cuff with a single stud in the second piercing, and a small and simple hoop in the first. Ear cuffs often look best when worn only on one side, rather than creating a symmetrical look and matching on both ears. Play around with different combinations, such as a single stud in each lobe, or two studs in each lobe, and an ear cuff to finish the look.

Fitting Your Ear Cuff When you first try to fit your ear cuff, if you’re unsure of exactly what to do this can be a little confusing, and also painful. Putting on your ear cuff certainly doesn’t have to be painful though, once you get used to it it’ll be as easy as putting in your studs. Follow these simple steps to safely and comfortably put on your ear cuff:

1. Slip your cuff onto your upper ear while looking in the mirror. Find the thinnest section of your cartilage and slip the opening of the cuff around it. One side of the cuff should be at the front of the ear, the other at the back.

2. Hold the ear taught against your head using two fingers. Using your other hand, slide the cuff down your ear until you get it in the position that you want. Usually the ideal position is just above the ear lobe, but still on the cartilage of your ear.

3. The ear cuff should now sit comfortably and snuggly on your ear. Check that it feels comfortable and isn’t pinching, as this will become more painful as the day goes on. If it feels a little tight, try sliding it up or down a little to find a spot where it feels more comfortable. Most importantly, check that it feels secure and in a position that won't budge, so that you avoid the risk of misplacing it during the day.

Finding Your Perfect Style As we move into autumn/winter, this season calls for luxury ear cuffs with a little glitz and glamour.  We are currently so in love with the Joubi Crystal Rainbow Ear Cuff collection. Choose from a single row of crystals for a more delicate touch, or a double row for a more statement feel. Both styles available in your choice of gold or silver finish. Studded with mutli-coloured Cubic Zirconia crystal stones, these ear cuffs offer the perfect way to add some statement sparkle to your look!

If you prefer a more muted style, try the Crystal Ear Cuff, which is available in silver, gold and rose gold, and is set with simple white Cubic Zirconia stones for a cleaner, simpler finish. Ear cuffs are the perfect way to update your style for the season ahead, and make a great investment piece for those that love chic style with a quirky edge!
